Three big time 'towkays' met for a drink at a local kopitiam. The first to arrive was Sammi. She was still as sharp in her dressing and still captured a lot of attention from the onlookers as she strode in like a model in a catwalk. Then, Karl Teng walked in very quietly trying not to attract any attention. Shook her hands, exchanged some pleasantries and both sat down. Not too long, Shoo Goon walked in hurriedly, smiling and apologised to the two for being a little late.

"Believe It Or Not, It Was A True Encounter!!!"

A few months back, I was admitted into a private hospital one evening, for the final phase of a full laser treatment at the back of my left eye. This time, I was happy to be given a single bedded room. Whenever possible, I would prefer to have a single bedded room. This is because under those circumstances, I could sleep better with the lights on and at the same time, do not inconvenient or disturb anyone.

Mirrors & Feng Shui !!!

Tags:
@ 03:38 PM (3 months, 8 days ago)

What have mirrors got to do with "feng shui?"

I am neither a Feng Shui 'sifu' nor trying to act as an expert in this field. But, I have something important to share here.

The Chinese always believes that when it comes to positioning your bed, never have any mirror positioned to directly reflect the headboard of your bed. By doing so it is believed that the person who sleeps on that bed is more prone to ill-health. To many, you may say that this is a myth. But, someone I met years ago, in Gronigen, The Netherlands had this to say about feng shui. 'It is best to believe, than to disbelieve'.

Many of us like to play with mirrors when it comes to interior decoration. One house that I have came across, have a very large mirror mounted on a wall which directly faces the front door of their house. To me, that is a 'no, no'. I know for sure that the effects will not be positive. So, I always wonder if the couple inside that house gets along well or are happy living together? But, there is nothing that I could do.

After some time, something happened just before Christmas last year. The man of the house moved out. Leaving the young woman behind all by herself.

I wonder if it is due to the bad feng shui that caused the negative vibes or .........?

'It is best to believe, than to disbelieve'.

Why Am I Doing More And Not Delegating Enough? (Updated May 22)

Tags:
@ 03:32 PM (3 months, 9 days ago)

Many of those whom I had the pleasure to work with always complained about working longer hours or at times having to take their work home. Most of them says that there is'nt enough time to do everything in the office or during office hours. However, I always believe that there is always available time to get everything done, if you use that of others. Yes, if you can start delegating or assigning to others tasks that you want or need to get done. But, most of the time we are doing more and delegating less. Why?

'Retiring @ 58 Years Of Age For All', Can That Be Possible???

Tags:
@ 02:36 PM (3 months, 16 days ago)

Yes, the Government had announced the good news last week. Our civil servants can now retire from work at fifty-eight years of age. Congratulations, I am really happy for them. That piece of very positive news will certainly be well received by our civil servants. I personally find retiring from work at fifty-eight years of age as reasonably acceptable for now. I must say that they have a very compassionate employer who was prepared to listen and wise enough to agree that their retirement age should be raised.

A New Day, Another Chance To Do Better

When I was a young student back then, a slogan that reads 'Tomorrow, the sun will rise again. A new Day. Another chance to do better!' was one of the many slogans that we, boarders had pasted and used to decorate on the walls inside our hostel. It had always served as an inspiration or at times a reminder to all of us then.
