'It is character that gets us out of bed every morning. Commitment which moves us to action. Finally, it is faith, hope and discipline that enables us to follow through to completion' by Zig Ziglar.

Lis, is a one-company employee. Besides her secretarial and administrative duties, she is held responsible and accountable for disbursing the salary to the Company's workforce on time every time. What impress me most is her attitude towards work. She gets up on time and goes to work without fail every morning. Yes, even when she was not well, certified ill and obtained medical leave from her Company's panel of doctors to rest at home. No amount of advice can stop her from going to work on that morning. I really cannot visualize how she can slough through that day. But, when she comes home, she will just drop onto the bed and then you can see her really sick in bed. In short, she just refused to be ill when it comes to work or at work. But, will have the time to be ill after work. Perhaps, such is her character, commitment and discipline towards work. I am sure there are others like Lis out there. I really take my hat off to such role models.

In this ever-changing world that we live in, Character, Commitment and Discipline are still vital career building blocks as we strive to excel everyday in our working lives.

Have a Happy Holiday !!!

The Difference Between Hard Work And Workaholism

Hard workers do their job. Workaholics are done in by their jobs.

Workaholics often looks like hard workers with their sights set on a goal. But, more often than not, the work is an end in itself. A way of keeping busy, a way of deluding the person or others into believing that he or she is doing something valuable. Only by engaging in a non-stop toil can a workaholic feels significant. In truth, they are driven by a fear of failure based on low self esteem.

Perhaps, the best clue to whether or not a person is a workaholic or just a hard worker, is his or her relationship to leisure time. True workaholics can't tolerate free time.
