Just Praying & Wishing.

"How does one achieve success in a battle?

I believe that it is essential to understand that battles

are won primarily in the hearts of men. Men

respond to leadership in a most remarkable way.

Once you have won their hearts,

they will follow you anywhere."

Just praying and wishing that our leaders of tomorrow can put the peoples interest above their personal ambitions and self-interests.

Into An Uncertain Political Future.

"To the winner, there is 100 percent elation,

100 percent fun, 100 percent laughter; and

yet the only thing left to the loser is

resolution and determination."

We are currently treading into a very uncertain political future.

Politically we are no longer stable at this point in time. Too many factors has come into play and is becoming .......... I really dread what the future will be for all of us?

Will the above serve as a food for thought for all who visits this blog ...........

Have a Happy Day!

Try To Win But Please Play By The Rules.

Tags:
@ 11:09 AM (1 month, 8 days ago)

"Being part of a football team is no different than

being part of any other organisation - an army, or

a political party. The objective is to win,  to beat the

other guys. You think that is hard or cruel?  I don't

think it is. I do think it is a reality of life that men

are competitive, and the more competitive the

business, the more competitive the men. They

know the rules, and they know the objective, and

they get in the game. And the objective is to win -

fairly, squarely, decently, by the rules, but to win."

Games are fun only because there are referees and there are rules to follow.

Just imagine, football without rules would be an athletic riot.

Our Stock Exchange without rules would be an entrepreneurial riot.

The unfortunate thing is this is not so in politics. I have no objection whatsoever that our leaders can try to win the hearts of the people if they can play by the rules.

"Rising To The Occassion."

Tags:
@ 11:27 PM (1 month, 11 days ago)

Leaders are not born - they are made.

You can have that position of responsibility and leadership as well.

All of us will have a great future if our leaders have the courage and the character to make bold decisions and to be uncommon leaders.

In this world, no leader wins alone. He or she will have to rely on the talents of others to control all the factors that go into a successful team play.

Another characteristic of an effective leader, is that they have a very 'high consideration factor'. In other words, even though he can be tough - a disciplinarian or a stern taskmaster - he is someone who does what he does because he cares. They are not concerned whether being known as Mr. Nice Guy or not.

They always want to make things happen.

Finally, like any effective manager or leader, I believe that each and everyone of us have the capacity to become larger and greater than what we are.

My parting question, "are you able to rise to the occassion?"

Note: This concludes my posts on uncommon leadership skills at this point in time. I may be posting more on this subject in the not too distant future.

On Enhancing Group Performance.

Tags:
@ 05:03 PM (1 month, 12 days ago)

"If you treat a man as he is, he will remain as he is;

but if you treat him as he were what he ought to be,

he will become what he ought to be and could be"

- Goethe.

What a manager expects of his subordinates and how he treats them will largely determine their performance and career progress. When employees are expected to do little, they tend to do little. But, when they are expected to do much, they tend to fullfill that prophecy.

One characteristic of effective managers is they have the ability to communicate high performance expectations to subordinates that, more often than not, are fullfilled.

Besides, effective managers always establish clear standards (objective and not vague, subjective judgements) of performance and set standards of excellence.

"Wanna Make Your Husband To Love You Again?"

Tags:

A woman once begged a tribal doctor for a potion that would 'make her husband love her again'. She explained that before he husband fought in the war, he was warm, loving and could laugh easily. But since his return he was angry, distant and humourless. The more she did to draw him back, the worse it became. The tribal doctor was her last hope. When she finished her story, the tribal doctor said, 'I think I can help you. I will make you a love potion - but you must go and find one of the ingredients yourself.'

It Cannot Be Done.

Tags:
@ 08:40 PM (1 month, 25 days ago)

It Cannot Be Done.

Somebody said it could'nt be done, but he with a chuckle replied,

That maybe it could'nt, but he would be one, who would'nt agree till he tried it.

So he buckled right in, with a trace of grin in his face, if he worried he hid it.

He started to sing as he tackled the thing that could'nt be done, and he did it.

There are thousands who tell you it cannot be done, there are thousands who prophesy failure;

There are thousands who point out to you one by one, the dangers that wait to asail you.

But just buckle in with a bit of grin, Just take off your coat and go to it;

Just start to sing, as you tackle the thing, that could'nt be done, and you'll do it.

The one who follows through.

The one with ethical boundary.

which becomes his deed.

All that can be said,

understood in high esteem,

is captured, with great compassion, in the phrase:

"He is a good man."

Our Positive & Negative Emotions.

Tags:
@ 03:22 PM (1 month, 28 days ago)

Hi Everybody, I am back !!!

Many wondered what has happened to me? Frankly, something unpleasant and really ugly happened to us since the middle of the previous week. And, last week we only had time and was busy going to the various government departments, agencies and approaching other parties that are in the position to assist and help us have the problem resolved at soonest possible.

It is not completely over yet. But, I believe with the grace of God, we are beginning to see some very faint light at the end of the tunnel. We pray that justice will prevail and very soon we will be accorded our very basic rights again. In many ways it was about emotions and that has led me to touch on this subject very briefly.

Some of the negative emotions in us are 'Fear, Jealousy, Hatred, Revenge, Greed, Superstition and Anger'.

While, some of the positive emotions in us are 'Desire, Faith, Love, Sex, Enthusiasm, Romance and Hope'.

Positive and negative emotions cannot occupy our mind at the same time. One or the other must dominate. Thus, it is our responsibility to make sure that our positive emotions constitute the dominating influence of our mind. Here we are talking about the Law of Habit. Form the habit of applying and using our positive emotions. And, eventually they will dominate our mind so completely that the negative cannot enter it. Try it!
