Wrong Career Choices & Changes; Working Woes.
An international survey revealed that many people in our workforce do not believe that their education properly prepared them for working life. And, quite a few even have regrets about the direction that their job has taken them.
This global survey sought the views of 115,000 people in 33 countries, including more than 2000 Malaysians.
66% of the respondents in Malaysia were happy with their career choice, 13% said they have made the wrong choice and 21% were not sure.
This survey also revealed how employees feel about the quality of their education. Satisfaction with the quality of the Malaysian school system was moderate by international standards.
An overwhelming 83% of the respondents agree that post-school education and professional education should be more practical and less theoretical.
The highest level of support for school education came from India with 69 percent saying that it prepared them well for working life. This is followed by Puerto Rico (67%), Indonesia and Thailand (65%), Poland (61%), Canada and Hungary (59%), Japan and Mexico (57%) Malaysia and United Kingdom (45%) slightly lower than the global average of 49%.
Regrettably, there are some who discovers that they are in the wrong career and is probably not as productive as they could be and may be missing out on a more fulfilling professional life. Are you one of those who is dissatisfied with your career choice or changes in your career?
Well, it is never too late to do something positive about it, working people.
Happy Working !!!

I've always wanted to be a doctor when I grow up. After leaving school I took up Business Administration and is now a customer service executive. Anyway, I'm still happy with what I'm currently doing.

There is a great need to review our approach towards making fresh school/college/university leavers to be better prepared and relevant for their working life. Otherwise, it's a waste of time and money for everyone.

Follow your heart, don't end up being somebody for the sake of others. Follow your heart again and study what your heart desiers instead of blaming the system for personal failure. What about yourself? Are you happy with what you are doing? Sharing them here may give more light to those who think they are failing....By the way, I am extreamly happy being who and what I am... and I think I have myself to thank...

At the educational fair you are sold. Upon completion of the course you have to sell yourself. The lack of practical training makes us irrelevant and not competitive in what we are doing as compared to those who have better training.

When it comes to career choices and changes, I must say that it should be ruled by the head and not follow your heart. Using your head is far more important as whatever decisions made are not made based on sentiments. Disregard what stranger said fellas. Make the smart move. Use your head.

Sensible to be ruled by your head and not follow your heart. If you heart ask you to ........ are you going to follow? Use your head first. Don't just ........
