When children take care of themselves through chores, they build character. When children earn the things they want, they are building character. When children creates and achieve goals, they build character as well. With character, they will become brillant, successful, talented and fabulous kids. Perhaps, all of us can lead the way by instilling self-discipline in the following ways and help them become the fabulous people they were meant to be. 

Building Character with Chores - Start giving children age-appropriate chores. By doing this, you are teaching them to take care of themselves which is also a valuable skill for life and self-discipline as well.

Building Character with Earning Power - If you smoother children with material things today you will be creating the gripers, groaners and gumblers of tomorrow. They will grow up thinking the world owes them. Teach children to earn what they want. Let them earn what they want. Give them a feeling of accomplishment and teaching them self-discipline as well.

Building Charcter with Goals - Teach them to create and achieve goals. Goals take consistent effort. Having a goal without effort is like having a front porch without steps. The steps to achieving goals takes practice, practice, practice. When you coach children to achieve their goals, you help them to make their dreams comes true and teaching themself-discipline as well.

Starting them young in character building is a very positive step in effective parenting skills. I hope you are not uncomfortable to show them the way and help them be the fabulous people that they were meant to be.
