The "Have & Have Not" Theory .......

Do you see that the world is split between the haves and the have not's? Do you agree that there are those who are born to make it and those who were born to work for those who made it? Do you agree that many people had driven themselves to an early grave resenting the people they believe were just 'lucky' in life?

I have been cracking my head for the past few days in search of an answer whether this 'have/have not' theory is correct? Finally, I am convinced that this 'have/have not' theory is totally incorrect. My statement may seem contradictory to the mood I have presented to you earlier but allow me to set it straight. Yes, the world is in fact divided into two groups. But they are not the groups that most of us were led to believe existed.

My prespective is that the two groups are the haves and the have to's. First, there are those who have already made a choice and are reaping the rewards. Then, there are those who have to's - they choose to let others choose for them. In either case, the choices made or not made will certainly determine where they spend the rest of their life. The truth is that every choice has a consequence and we are now living the consequences of our past choices. Thus, it is correct to say, 'our lives and where we are today is the sum total of every choice that we have ever made or allowed others to make for us.'

Most people will like to complain about never winning a lottery, yet every week not choosing to buy a ticket. If you ask anyone around you if he or she would like to win the lottery? The answer would be 'Yes.' So, while you may want the rewards that comes with the winning numbers, if you choose not to ever take a chance on a ticket, you will never win. Start making choices, I mean the best choices from now onwards.

As for me, I have made my choice. I am now doing what I have choose to do and is not giving up in any way. Now I can honestly say that I am living the life of my dreams. But, my only question is, "How about you?"

  1. Just my thoughts on what yo wrote...I have been told that I am a "Have Not" by my father. It is my belief that the "Have's" HAVE material possessions, jobs, nice cars, houses, things in general. Those things to me are "luxuries." I, on the other hand grew up weatlhy and became a divorced single mother with a child. Thus, referring myself to be a "Have Not" because I chose to have a child and put her needs above my own. I did go without a lot of "things." I learned how to manage my money and be frugal. I love resale shops, "why bey Retail, when you have Resale shops?" With the economy going bad in 2009, job losses, bankruptcy, divorce, forclosed houses, repossessions of all sorts of "things" I believe many who thought they were "Have's" are now more of the category of "have not's." Yes, they are labels that have many different meanings but to me it does not matter. What counts is that you live your life full and know that we all came into the world "naked" and we will leave one way. I did not say any of this to offend anyone. Thank you for your wonderful insightful blog post.
