'Chromotherapy is also refered as 'Color Therapy.' It is an ancient science using the colours in the spectrum to bring back the body to the frequency of health and harmony.
Colors are frequencies of vibration that we experience everywhere and anywhere, affecting us every moment with and without our knowing. The reality of colors began with Creations, for color comes from sound. Sound was the very first creation..... "In the beginning was the Word.....and then there was Light.....or the complete spectrum of colors."
According to the philosophy of color healing, disease is altered function which is the response of the body, to strain, whether it is chemical, mechanical or thermal. the application of the right frequency - whether through food, drugs or color rays, brings one back to health.
To understand the healing effects of colors on us is not difficult. Let us look at the colors of a pile of garbage and then the colors of a flower arrangement, you will experience the effects of these colors on our sense of well-being.
Brown is the color of the earth, repentance, solitude, honesty and straightforwardness. Brown and Red being the densest in frequencies, are related to the Root Chakra. Red is the color of passion, action, emotion, vitality. Red which is of the element fire, is linked with the Root Chakra or the seat of the sexual energy Kundalini or serpent fire. The sound that activates this color and chakra is "O".
Orange is a color of feeling, emotion, affection, intelligence, sharing. Orange is linked with the Abdominal Chakra which is the center for unconscious emotion. The sound to activate this color and chakra is "EH".
Yellow is the color for the mind and therefore a color of the thinker and the philosopher. it is a color for cheerfulness, intelligence, spiritual progress, faith, consistency and glory and prosperity. Yellow is linked with the Navel Chakra and is empowered by the sound "HARA".
Green is for life, resurrection, abundance, love, joy and healing. it depicits energy, youth, growth, inexperience, fertility, hope and new life. green is cooling, soothing and calming. Green is linked with the Heart Chakra. Pink which is light red, is also linked with the Heart Chakra. The sound that activates this chakra is "AH".
Blue is a color of heaven, hope, piety, chasity, loyalty,fidelity. It is the color for truth, devotion, calmness and sincereity. It is also a color for meditation and spiritual expansion. Blue relaxes the mind and controls the Throat Chakra, the creative expression center. The sound that activates this chakra is "AH".
Indigo is a color for royalty, justice, temperance, psychic and creative work, majesty, spirituality. Purple is a color for the artistically gifted. It makes one self-reliant, strong and determined. Indigo controls the psychic currents of the subtle bodies. It governs the chakra in the center of the forehead called the Third Eye. The sound that activates this color and chakra is "I".
Violet is the color of the saint. it depicts supportiveness, loyalty, loving devotion. It is an inspiring, healing and spiritual color. Leonardo da Vinci once said "The power of meditation can be ten times greater under violet light falling through the stained glass window of a quiet church." Violet is the ruler of the Crown Chakra and the sound that activates this color and chakra is "MMM".
White is the presence of all colors. It signify purity and goodness.
Black is the absence of color.
