On 'Effectiveness' (Updated may 23).
For many of us working people, 'self-evaluation' is nothing new. In fact, I have often heard from others that they do not know how to do a self-evaluation and being uncomfortable when having to discuss this subject face-to-face with their immediate superior or employer.
When it comes to self-evaluation I believe we are always selling ourselves short.
I always believe that we are much more smarter, more creative, hardworking, have more initiative and more talented than we think or believe we are. To me, our greatest limiting factor is our very own concept of who we are?
Our self-image is the core of our behaviour. If you believe that you are shy, lazy, friendly, aggressive, intelligent or whatever other qualities that you can think of, (be it positive or negative) your behaviour will tend to support that concept of who you think you are.
Very often, we cling to these self-concepts and resists whatever change in them because they are our main contact with reality.
Thus, by strengthening your self-image; it is the first step towards increased effectiveness in you.
A parting thought for those following this blog. 'A winner will always see themselves as a winner'. I agree that they may not win all the time but, wins more than their share in whatever they do.....
Have a Happy Day !!!

"Working With - Not Against."
A father was heard advising his son, who was about to get married soon.
He said "Cooperation is the foundation of a successful marriage.
You must do things together.
For instance, if your wife wants to go for a walk, go for a walk with her.
If she wants to go to the movies, go to the movies with her.
If she wants to do the dishes, do the dishes with her."
After listening dutifully to his father, the son asked "Suppose she wants to mop the floor?"
If you want to work less and accomplish more, keep this simple point in mind: "It is easier to work with people than it is to work against them."

"Strengthening Your Self-Image."
A stronger self-image gives you the 'can do' power to climb up the highest summits and yet have energy to spare. Changing your self-image is tough but it can be done with a little will-power and self-discipline.
Our self-image is a mixture of both positive and negative values or qualities. We can enhance our self-image by dwelling on our positive values or qualities and using them to the best advantage. List down your strengths. Consider them in the light of your goals. How can I use them to help me achieve my goals? Which ones will be the most suitable in this regard? Build yourself up. Then resolve to make the most of your strengths.
It's the psychological leverage of working smart.
